The Forties Experience is a historical experience and museum about World War II located in Bushey in Watford in Hertfordshire.
This attraction has indoor and outdoor things to see and do and is sited in what was the operational headquarters of the 8th Fighter Command US air force squadron during World War II. There are a number of recreated buildings and scenes including a 1940s house, a village school room, an officers club and a 1940s street scene with a general store.
Other things to see and participate in include a dig for Victory garden, a display about the land army, talks from wartime evacuees, a collection of wartime toys and games, a military museum, a number of informational displays about various war time themes and a exhibit about the site's use during the war. On the open days visitors can also take a jeep ride to experience first hand a London Blitz raid.
