The Dock Museum is a local history museum in the coastal resort of Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria just outside the lake district.
The museum is set in a bright and airy modern building alongside the channel leading to the sea and built within a dry dock. Set over three floors the museum galleries contains a range of permanent and temporary exhibits about the history of the Barrow in Furness area. Items on display include model ships, clothing, household items, historical artefacts, photographs, archaeological finds and Viking artefacts including a sword and some silver coins and jewellery from the Furness Viking Hoard. There is also a film show to see about Barrow, reconstructed historical scenes, parts of old sailing vessels, Roman artefacts and Bones from an ancient man found near Morecambe.
