Southend Pier Museum

Southend Pier Museum, is a museum about Southend pier located in Southend in Essex.

Run as a non-profit making organisation, the museum is located beneath the train station at the shore end of the pier. It has informational displays and exhibits about the history of the pier, which dates all the way back to 1834. Included in the exhibits are ex-rolling stock and accoutrements from the pier train rides and the tram rides that ran prior to the trains. Other items include memorabilia, costumes, photos and working penny arcade machines.

The pier itself is the longest pleasure pier in the world at just over a mile and 1/3 long and still has train journeys to take visitors from one end of the pier to the other.
