Hereford Cathedral is a historic cathedral with exhibitions located in Hereford city centre in Herefordshire.

This attraction is also called the Cathedral church of St Mary of the Virgin and St Ethelbert the King and it is a religious building serving as a place of worship for the Anglican faith. The location of a church since Saxon times this building has parts dating back to the 11th century. Things to see include the architecture from the different eras of construction, beautiful stained glass windows, the restored Shrine of St Thomas of Hereford and there are also a number of exhibitions containing national treasures.

There is the Mappi Mundi exhibition, the centrepiece of which is the Mappi Mundi itself, which is a map dating from the 1300's. The cathedral also owns one of only four copies of the 1217 revision of the Magna Carta, plus there are many other historical artefacts on display in the exhibitions. There is also the Chained Library exhibition, so called because all the books (around 1500 of them) are chained to the bookcases which date from 17th century, with some of the books dating back to 800 AD. Bookcases from this era were all made with security chains for the books and the collection at Hereford Cathedral is the largest set of books, chains and bookcases to remain intact in the world. There is also a programme of temporary exhibits.

Tours of the cathedral run Monday to Saturday normally occurring twice daily at 11:05am and 2:05pm. Tower tours, which also take in the Lantern gallery and the Ringing chamber occur on Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays. There is also the Chapter House garden to view which was recently redeveloped.
