Gunby Hall Estate: Monksthorpe Chapel is an old Baptist chapel between Spilsby and Skegness in Lincolnshire.
Designed to look like a barn to disguise it from non-Baptists this chapel was constructed in 1701. It is set in secluded, rural farmland away from prying eyes and features a small graveyard adjacent to the building. Unusually the baptistery is located outside of the chapel in the open air. To view the interior you must get the key from Gunby Hall and Gardens tearoom for a £20 deposit, between the hours specified below and return it before 4:30pm. The interior is furnished how it might have looked in 1840 when the chapel was refurbished.
The exterior areas are available to view at any time of year. The buildings next to the chapel consist of a caretaker's cottage a stable and a privy. An informational sheet available to download from the National Trust website.
