Foxfield Railway is a 5.5km private railway track starting at Caverswall Road station which operates vintage steam and diesel train rides.
The track was constructed in the 1890's to run coal for Foxfield Colliery but was closed in 1965. In order to reduce costs the track was laid without doing much in the way of excavating earth, which has resulted in steep inclines along the route. Santa special train rides at Christmas.
