Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens is a large Roman dwelling built in approximately 75AD with gardens and located one and a half miles West of Chichester.
On site you can watch a film to show you how the villa would have looked in it's heyday and find out who may have lived in it. The North wing of of what remains of the palace is available to view and has a number of mosaic floors to see, the largest collections of in-situ mosaics in the UK. There is also a museum displaying the Roman artefacts discovered during the excavations including coins, jewellery and pottery.
The recreated Roman gardens are laid out as the historians believe they might have been during the villa's occupation and there is also a garden museum where you can learn more about the garden and have a go at some gardening activities. There is also a Discovery centre which features changing exhibits. Guided tours available.
