East Anglian Railway Museum is a museum about the locomotive history of the region located at Chappel railway station 8 miles from Colchester in Essex.
The station is located next to a large railway viaduct and has original Victorian railway buildings, restored trains and carriages and other railway related artefacts on display. On event days the museum runs vintage train rides or Thomas the Tank engine train rides. There is also a 7 1/4 inch miniature railway with two steam engines and a diesel engine that operates on most event days. Event days during December with Thomas the Tank Engine and Santa train rides. Steam experience days available.
