Barnards Miniature Railway runs miniature train rides the grounds of Barnards farm near Basildon in Essex and 10 minutes from junction 29 and 30 of the M25.
The railway is approximately 1.4km long running in a loop using a 7 1/4 inch gauge line and operating a number of units including steam, diesel/hydraulic, petrol and electric powered locomotives. The site is also the location of 17 hectares of gardens which open to the public under the National Gardens Scheme and the train rides travel through these going past woods, the lake and the belvedere. Halloween train rides and Christmas Santa special train rides going to Santa's grotto. Miniature railway birthday parties can be arranged.
